The COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company has been awarded the internationally recognised ISO 45001 certification, following an external audit carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification Holding SAS, a global leader in independent monitoring, auditing, and risk management.
The certification was officially granted on October 2nd during a meeting between Nahla Abid, a Bureau Veritas official, and Narmin Jarchalova, Chair of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company and Chief Operating Officer for COP29. In their discussions, both parties underscored the importance of creating a safe and secure working environment. Nahla Abid noted that obtention of the ISO 45001 reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and its rigorous application of occupational safety measures. She commended the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company for its dedication to upholding international standards in workplace safety.
Narmin Jarchalova, in turn, reiterated the Operating Company’s commitment to the ongoing enhancement of working conditions and a continuous elevation of safety protocols within the company.
ISO 45001 is recognised as a benchmark management system, designed to prevent workplace accidents and ensure the highest standards of employee safety. The standard’s core aim is not only to guarantee a safe and healthy working environment but also to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks. With this certification, the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company once again reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of its workforce, aligning itself with globally recognised best practices.
