In a recent phone conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed the state of bilateral relations and the ongoing developments in Palestine.
During the call, Minister Safadi congratulated Araghchi on his appointment as Iran’s Foreign Minister, wishing him success in his new role. The Jordanian Foreign Minister voiced serious concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and the increasing tensions in the West Bank, emphasizing the urgent need to de-escalate the situation in both regions.
Minister Araghchi expressed gratitude for the warm congratulations and reiterated Iran’s readiness to engage in constructive dialogue with Jordan on matters of mutual interest, including regional and international issues. He emphasized that the actions of the Zionist regime are the primary source of ongoing tensions and conflict in the region, asserting that continued aggression by Israel is the biggest obstacle to peace in Gaza. Araghchi called for decisive action by the international community to stop what he described as the genocide being committed by Zionist forces.
Araghchi also highlighted the critical need to send humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people and reaffirmed Iran’s support for any agreement that aligns with the aspirations of the Palestinian people and their resistance.
Both ministers agreed on the importance of maintaining regular consultations between their countries, recognizing it as essential for the interests of both nations and the stability of the broader region.
