In a shocking escalation of the ongoing conflict, Ukraine has launched its largest and most daring drone attack to date on the Russian capital of Moscow, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming at least one life. According to Russian authorities, at least 20 drones were destroyed over Moscow, with an additional 124 downed over eight other regions. “I looked at the window and saw a ball of fire,” said Alexander Li, a resident of the district. “The window got blown out by the shockwave.” Another resident, Georgy, described hearing a drone buzzing outside his building before it hit. “I drew back the curtain and it hit the building right before my eyes, I saw it all,” he said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the attack, stating that it was a reminder of the “real nature” of Ukraine’s political leadership, which he described as “enemies” of Russia. “There is no way that nighttime strikes on residential neighborhoods can be associated with military action,” Peskov said. “The Kyiv regime continues to demonstrate its nature. They are our enemies, and we must continue the special military operation to protect ourselves from such actions.”
Ukrainian authorities reported that Russia had launched 46 drone attacks on their territory overnight, with 38 being destroyed. The exchange of drone strikes marks a significant escalation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides accusing each other of targeting civilians.
