The Council for Global Affairs and Development (CGAD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Diane Douala as a member of the CGAD Global Youth Advisory Board for the 2026–2027 term, recognising her contributions to artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, technology diplomacy, digital governance and youth empowerment.
Diane Douala is a Data and AI Consultant, Tech Diplomacy Strategist and Emerging Technology Advocate whose work focuses on the intersection of technological innovation, digital infrastructure, international cooperation and inclusive development. Her professional and leadership experience reflects her commitment to bridging the gap between emerging technologies, institutional decision-making and meaningful youth participation in global affairs.
Diane currently serves as a Board Member and Head of Internal Relations at KRYPTOSPHERE Europe, a student network dedicated to emerging technologies, bringing together more than 800 students across over 20 universities. She is also the Founder and President of its Albert School and Eugenia School branch, where she contributes to developing opportunities for students to engage with emerging technologies, innovation and collaborative learning.
Through her leadership at KRYPTOSPHERE Europe, Diane promotes greater awareness of artificial intelligence, blockchain and Web3 technologies while encouraging young people to participate in conversations surrounding the future of digital transformation.
Her work places particular emphasis on technology diplomacy, an emerging field that examines how technological developments influence international relations, public policy and global cooperation. She advocates for stronger connections between technological innovation and institutional decision-making, recognising the importance of involving younger generations in shaping the policies and frameworks that govern emerging technologies.
Diane participated as a CGAD International Funded Delegate and Speaker at the Global Youth Impact Summit (GYIS) Porto 2026, where she contributed to international discussions on blockchain, artificial intelligence and sustainable development.
During the summit, she engaged in dialogue on the opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies, highlighting the importance of digital literacy, responsible innovation and international cooperation in building inclusive digital societies.
Beyond her professional and academic engagements, Diane is a strong advocate for increasing women’s participation in technology and expanding access to digital education. Her interests reflect a commitment to reducing barriers that prevent young people, particularly women, from accessing opportunities in rapidly evolving technological fields.
Her advocacy also extends to Web3 and decentralised technologies, with an emphasis on exploring their potential applications in digital innovation, institutional development and international collaboration.
Diane’s work connects with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. These priorities reflect her commitment to promoting digital inclusion, technological innovation and collaborative approaches to sustainable development.
The CGAD Global Youth Advisory Board brings together emerging leaders, academics, professionals, entrepreneurs and youth advocates from diverse backgrounds and regions. Its members contribute their expertise and perspectives to CGAD’s international programmes, youth initiatives and efforts to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
As a member of the Advisory Board for the 2026–2027 term, Diane will contribute her perspectives on artificial intelligence, blockchain, technology diplomacy, digital governance and youth innovation. Her participation will support CGAD’s efforts to encourage dialogue on emerging technologies, strengthen international youth engagement and explore opportunities for collaboration between young innovators and institutions.
Her appointment reflects CGAD’s commitment to incorporating diverse professional perspectives into international youth dialogue, particularly in areas where technological advancement is transforming economies, governance and international cooperation.
Through her continued work in technology and international engagement, Diane seeks to democratise digital literacy, advance women’s inclusion in technological fields and strengthen the connection between youth-led innovation and global decision-making.
Her involvement in the Advisory Board will provide further opportunities to contribute to international conversations on responsible technological development, digital inclusion and the role of emerging technologies in advancing sustainable development.
