The Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD), under the leadership of Chairman Qaiser Nawab, expresses profound shock and deep sorrow at the heinous terrorist attack that occurred on December 14, 2025, at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. This brutal assault targeted innocent civilians attending a Hanukkah celebration and has resulted in the tragic deaths of dozens of people, with many more severely injured. Authorities, both local and international, have described the incident as a terror attack driven by antisemitic hatred. Chairman Nawab unequivocally condemns this act of senseless violence and hatred in the strongest possible terms. He extends BRISD’s deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the Jewish community in Australia, and all those affected by this atrocity. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured and with all emergency responders and medical personnel who are working tirelessly to save lives.
“This despicable attack on civilians celebrating a festival of light and unity is an affront to all humanity,” said Chairman Nawab. “We stand in solidarity with the people of Australia and the global Jewish community in rejecting all forms of hatred, extremism, and violence. Such acts are an affront to peace, unity, and the fundamental dignity of human life.”BRISD reaffirms its commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual respect among all communities worldwide. We urge governments and civil society to strengthen cooperation in combating hatred, discrimination, and terrorism in all its forms, and to support victims and survivors in healing and recovery.
