On September 4, the second China-Pakistan B2B Investment Summit was successfully held in Beijing. Ren Hongbin, Member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was present at both the opening and closing ceremonies, where he delivered a keynote address. Senior government officials, diplomats, and business representatives from China and Pakistan participated in the event, engaging in extensive exchanges on deepening industrial cooperation and promoting the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During the summit, the China Pakistan Medical Association and Zhongke Rural Culture Industry Co., Ltd. formally signed a strategic memorandum of cooperation, marking the official launch of the China-Pakistan Medical and Health Enclave (Hunan) Industrial Park project. This collaboration represents a significant measure under the second-phase framework of CPEC to deepen integration in industrial cooperation and social livelihood areas. It also serves as a vivid reflection of the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan reaching new heights.

According to the memorandum, the two parties will focus on promoting the following areas of cooperation: First, jointly building the China-Pakistan Culture and Technology Park, Health Industry Park, and Medical Wellness Park to create a comprehensive platform integrating healthcare services, technological R&D, and cultural exchange. Second, establishing a supply chain system for medical materials and equipment to enhance regional medical and health security capabilities. Third, cooperating to build a production base for natural ingredients (emphasizing the concept of “food as medicine”) to promote the integrated development of high-quality agricultural products and the health food industry. Fourth, constructing a university-enterprise cooperation platform to strengthen the training of high-tech medical talent and support the capacity building of Pakistan’s healthcare system. Fifth, promoting industrial synergy among medical enterprises.

President of China Pakistan Medical Association Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz said that This cooperation actively responds to the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Pakistan on building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future. It will not only further expand the scope of cooperation under CPEC but also strive to promote the mutual sharing of high-quality medical resources, synergistic development of the health industry, and continuous improvement of people’s livelihoods. In his summit speech, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that the Pakistani government attaches great importance to practical cooperation with China in healthcare, agricultural technology, education, and other people-to-people fields. He pledged full support to provide Chinese investors with a safe, efficient, and convenient business environment.

The signing of this memorandum is a concrete action by enterprises from both countries to implement the Joint Action Plan for 2024–2029 and promote the qualitative upgrading of CPEC. It will also contribute more cooperative achievements ahead of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan next year. The cooperating enterprises expressed that they will take this opportunity to further expand collaboration spaces, optimize resource allocation, and jointly create a new model of high-quality development cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
