On the well-known Spanish internet channel EDATV, the head of the Caucasus-Iberoamerican Think Tank, a well-known expert on Spanish-speaking countries, Mahir Gurbanov, provided detailed insight into the signing of the Joint Declaration following the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia in Washington. The program, broadcast live on EDATV, was dedicated entirely to this topic.
Mahir Gurbanov highlighted that the meetings held by President Ilham Aliyev at the White House on August 8, as part of his official visit to the United States, will be remembered as “a historical turning point in the history of Azerbaijani diplomacy.”
According to Gurbanov, the visit not only gave “a serious impetus to the progress of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agenda towards concrete results” but also elevated Azerbaijan–US relations to the stage of strategic partnership.
He stressed that “the entire world community highly appreciates the historic Joint Declaration signed between President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan through the mediation of US President Donald Trump.”

Describing the significance of the document, Gurbanov stated: “The Joint Declaration signed in Washington is the formation of a political course by the Head of State that determines the future of not only our country, but also the entire South Caucasus, and this process is a celebration of his commitment to our national interests, his principled position, and his unwavering will.”
